Inside Al Ahly’s crucial meeting with the president

Al Ahly president Mahmoud El Khatib recently held a meeting with the players and coaching staff to express his displeasure with the team’s recent performance.

The reason for El Khatib’s concern stems from Al Ahly’s dismal run in the Egyptian Premier League which has seen them fail to secure a victory in one of their last four league matches.

According to the club’s official website, ‘Bibo’ revealed he was unhappy with the club’s recent performance and held a meeting with coach Pitso Mosimane and his players.

“The president of Al Ahly told the players that the board provides them with everything they need to succeed and they have already shown this over the past two seasons with the titles they have won. However, he is not happy with the team’s performance in the last few games, which precedes the most important period of the season.

“El Khatib mentioned to the players that they did not show determination and spirit in these matches and they need to bounce back and get back to winning ways, adding that continental success should not affect our performance. in national competitions, the statement read in part.

With the Egyptian giants’ hopes of winning a third consecutive CAF Champions League title still alive and kicking, Bibo has pledged his support for the Red Eagles.

Al Ahly face ES Sétif in the semi-finals of the tournament on Saturday.
