Football fans can’t watch DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket due to website and app crashing • TechCrunch

This is DirecTV’s final year as the exclusive home of NFL Sunday Ticket, the out-of-market sports package that airs National Football League regular season games, and let’s just say opening weekend n didn’t go well.

Reports Sunday Ticket website and app crashes were rampant yesterday as customers were either locked out of service, unable to connect, experienced slow streams or received error messages saying they couldn’t stream because they were inside an NFL stadium when they weren’t.

DirecTV was not immediately available to comment on TechCrunch. The company said The edgeWe are aware that some customers cannot access NFL Sunday Ticket online or through the app. Our teams are working to resolve this issue, but in the meantime we recommend that satellite customers watch on TV. »

DirecTV is still in contact with Twitter users to find a solution to the problems.

DirecTV wasn’t the only service that crashed, either. Viewers trying to watch NFL RedZone on TV Sling and YouTube Television experienced streaming issues. Even the newly launched NFL+ streaming service gave some subscribers difficulty.

DirecTV held Sunday Ticket rights since 1994, and this is not the first time that users know broadcast issues.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed in July that the next Sunday Ticket winner will be a streaming service and will be revealed in the fall.
